There was a full page ad in this mornings West Australian about this. The direct flight will operate three days a week-Tuesday/Thursday and Sunday. The ad makes a big mention of the new 'visa free entry' rules. It seems that the flights will be on a B787-9.

There are also a couple of sweeteners thrown in. Until 31/12/2024 eligible transit pax will get a free one nights accommodation including hotel transfers and breakfast. Also those with a shorter transit time - of at least 8 hours - "can enjoy a guided tour".

Very good to see them in PER and hopefully ADL resumes in the not too distant future. They do have some pretty good fares but need to sort out their alliance issues IMO.
I personally wouldn’t be interested in the guided tour as it’s not one of my favourite Chinese cities but plenty would be interested in it and the free night so a pretty good offer

I wonder which lounge they'll use. It looks like another roughly midnight departure. The airport is pretty busy around then and the lounges are usually heaving already.
