As a lifetime gold Qantas ff (over 1 million points) and elite plus China southern (over 1.5 million points) I really hope they do join one worlde using points across the two brands much easier. I have flown China southern every month to China for nearly 8 years and not surprised they are one of the strongest airlines in the world now.

Further fuel to the fire in regards to CZ potentially joining OW

I've long suspected that CZ may look to join Oneworld once the "cooling off" period (for lack of a better term) from their SkyTeam exit ended. That was yesterday, so who knows what could happen from here. I agree that a Oneworld entry is possible.

With CX's weakened position due to the recent political situation, it also increases the chance of CX 'not' standing in the way of a potential future CZ application for OW.
