I am beginning to wonder if there is any capacity left should Qantas decide to go to Adelaide International ops? Others seem to have a vision.IMG_1109.jpeg

Any idea what they're flying? 787s?

I guess at this point the Chinese are sort of trying to find new markets. I have to imagine they're trying to figure out what to do with their capacity and maybe they see it as an opportunity to replace the ME3 right now.

For the first time ever I'm giving CZ a go and flying MEL-CAN-PKX , weekend stopover then PKX-HND later in August. Economy too! The prices are very good, looking forward to trying a Chinese airline for the first time ever, have A350 and A333 aircraft so that should be ok. Do they fly the premium economy cabin to Melbourne? Wondering about airport upgrades if they sell any. Load might be quite low based on seat map anyway

They actively pitch upgrades at check in, and often have a barcode you can scan on the tray back of the seat in front of you, however that method requires a Chinese phone number….

No Chinese number here, are the prices ok at check in?

April 2026 international flights statistics from the Federal Government's BITRE disclose that CZ's total number of passengers in April 2026 was 133775 compared to 73936 in April 2025, an astronomical rise of 80.5 per cent.

This compares to Cathay Pacific's comparable rise of 12.5 per cent, Air China down 6.9 per cent and China Eastern with negligible growth of 0.3 per cent.
