Sorry you're right.

We weren't transiting we just stayed overnight near hotel.

Still needed to fill in a bunch of online declarations but not visa.

I think you only needed to go to complete a form at the airport will do?

I am still puzzled with foreigners' process to enter China, because as a Hong Kong citizen, we cannot use passports to enter China.
