China - never a dull moment!

Anyone flown Spring airline before?
Would love some feedback because atleast their airfares are reasonably priced.
Harbin to Shanghai $175 OW including 20kg bag. While otheres are North of $450..

Then a couple of PA announcements and a visual check during most flights to ensure no use of chargers on-board. Even strict on no charging of anything during take-off and landing. I'm happy with that.
Should have been this way forever - but no charging on takeoff and decent has always been policy and rightfully so

I have, but only in their previous ‘Spring Plus’ class, which came with meals and a separate cabin (not sure if you still get either of those). It was actually pretty good. I believe they’re pretty strict with hand luggage in the main cabin.

I have and it was perfectly fine. Don't book using Trip.com if you don't have to though because from memory they don't have the system in place to select the seats with Spring.

Possibly like how my recent check-in at CNX (Chiang Mai, Thailand) worked. You checked in at airline desk, then they sent you to a separate central bag drop where they screened your luggage individually then said you were OK. Not sure how well it would scale at busy airports

Presume doing the usual checks plus scanning for battery banks.

I’ll know tomorrow when I check-in - BUT - at PVG and PEK all checked bags are scanned before you leave check-in counter - there is bag screening room at end of belt behind check-in desks - countless times I have had to go to bag screening room to open bag and show what was detected on scan - always it was sample parts or whatever - never contraband - this happens before they will hand over BPs

Yep bag screening completely removed entrance to PVG T2 - still have Yes the explosive test in operation - you are penned up until released 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑

As expected bags are scanned like old times through scanner immediately behind checkin counters.

If bags need to be open and inspected as mine often then it’s off to baggage inspection room at end of checkin counters

You seriously need a microscope to find the CCC - when scanned at dep PVG today staff checked both pre and post scanning for CCC stamp

Now let me assure you there was nothing ‘tender’ about the tenderloin 👍

I do carry power bank and it China bought with the CCC stamp - going through security scanning I did ask if I could take pictures of the huge tub of confiscated power banks but they would not permit it

That business class looks excellent. Husband is trying to convince me (when we finally get there ) that we need this from Shanghai to Beijing
Fares can fluctuate wildly between carriers and days of the week… Air China is around AUD480 if you can book in advance, and you can even score the 747 out of the city airport in Shanghai.

All Chinese carriers now have solid J class - when you go to book make sure you check Trip.com and the carriers own web site - Trip.com will almost certainly be cheaper and they have sensational English speaking service agents if you do encounter probs - their call centre support much better then airline direct

CA1557 booked through Trip.com was AUD649 booked day b4 flt. Choose flt on wide body aircraft at time that suits you and you will be pleasantly surprised 👍
