Not sure if this has been posted before
I'm a Qantas platinum and flying with China Eastern has anyone used China Eastern lounges in China?
Also, I have flown from Sydney and could only use the business lounge in Sydney

Generally you will only get access to their own lounge if travelling to Australia, which is PVG only, none at Wuhan.

This is pre-Covid but I flew China Eastern to Shanghai from Melbourne as a Platinum and was allowed into the F lounge after some debate between the two staff members at the desk. Things have changed since then:

Yes. Youll have access to their lounge. I'm not sure if thats 37 or 137 but if its satellite terminal departure try to see if 137 is available. Thats their new one that they quietly opened post covid and is supposedly the better lounge.

Keep in mind they have five destinations they depart from for Sydney alone, as YMMV as numerous travellers have found out in recent time, myself included

The lounge at Beijing is decent.
Poor drinks selection but house-made bao buns and dim sum are excellent.
Staff are awesome.

Are passengers being told to use the QF temporary J lounge in SYD or are they being diverted to the SkyTeam Lounge?

I'll be flying MU in a week's time. Will report back on where I get sent to in SYD. I'm flying in J on an MU ticket but also have ST Elite Plus status.

Sydney Skyteam lounge does not allow for MU access. Why not? Confucius is not clear!

Is this a recent change?
I do know of a couple of people who flew MU last year out of SYD and despite being told at check-in in to use the QF J lounge they had no issue entering the SkyTeam lounge.

Hasn’t been on the access list for a while:

I know it’ hasn’t been on the access list for a while but my question is whether it’s being enforced now when anecdotally it seems that last year people were having no issue entering the ST lounge. Maybe they have clamped down but I’d definitely like to see someone test it out

I tried last year and was turned away from the ST Lounge. The ST Lounge food offerings are better than the QF Business Lounge food.
I'm going to try again next week.
