China Eastern and Qantas FF ... Which option?

Would be grateful for help. Am Qantas Gold and booked on China Eastern from Sydney - Shanghai - London - Shanghai - Beijing - Tokyo. Have just joined Eastern Miles as well and that MU ff number is in the booking.
Would prefer to get Q points rather that Eastern - would I be better off having QFF in the booking rather than Eastern? If so would I get Q points for the entire trip Sydney - Shanghai - London - Shanghai - Beijing - Tokyo or only those code shared with Q (and I don't know which they are!!) ???
I understand that I may qualify for Q points but not status credits.
In a quandary about what is best to do ... help appreciated ... Thanks !!!

You definitely won't get any Status Credits.
Whether you will get points on Qantas will depend on the booking class

For cheap economy tickets I suspect you might be better booking to China Eastern as most carriers are better on their own program, but I don't know enough about MU's Eastern Miles

With China Eastern freq flyer miles/points will you be ever able to use them ?
Will you fly with China Eastern or its airline partners again ?
One trip does make a freq flyer in a program
Many people have orphan freq flyer miles that expire

China Eastern is a QF partner, so you will get QF points, but not SC's on an eligible fare class.
I assume its a MU flight number. What class - fare bucket letter have you bought ?

For me I would putting to QF if they earn QF points.
But removing one freq flyer number from a reservation and replacing can at times not stick.
Check, check and then check again. Print out screen shots

Have now checked the itinerary and the trip is a strange mixture of classes ... Syd - Shanghai and Shanghai - London are N ... London - Shanghai and Beijing - Shanghai - Tokyo is Z ... and Shanghai - Beijing is Y ...
So from your information on Qantas it seems that N get 0.5, Y gets 1 ... and Z gets a huge 0
Also from what I can ascertain Z gets you zilch on MU anyway.
So it looks like Q FF is the way to go ... will make sure that the FF number is changed from Eastern Miles to Qantas !!
