Seems like not even checkmytrip.com is 'enhancement' - free. The clever people at Amadeus who are behind checkmytrip have come up with a new look for the portal.

Now you're also able to view payment info and fare rules.

But the new look checkmytrip seems to have abolished several, IMHO, very useful features:
- Inability to view seat allocations [mine are showing as 'none specified'] this is more an irritation than anything else as it was convenient to simply refer to checkmytrip to observe that my seat allocation is indeed confirmed. Apart from BA/QF flights with the still functional MMB on BA.com, it is now necessary to dig into the subterranean trenches of various airline websites to retrieve seating info, if they indeed exist at all.

- Where more than 1 carrier participates in the itinerary, it is now impossible to see whether the FFP info is FQTVed to each carrier properly. Eg instead of something like 'Qantas Airways - AAxx_xx_x' and 'British Airways - AAxx_xx_x' in the case of a QF/BA itinerary using AAdvantage, the new itinerary shows FFP info very generally as simply 'AA xx_xx_x.' And QF agents are notorious for entering non-QF FFP info incorrectly.
My AA number would often appear as 'American Airlines - AAxx_xx_x' even though the itinerary only has QF content.

Aesthetically the whole thing looks pretty cluttered.

Agree with you QF009 about checkmytrip.com removing the seat allocations :( - We have managed to book 2 FF trips to LA next April in J class :) and got the seats allocated as well. I checked last week in checkmytrip.com and the seat allocations were there (QF site did not show seats allocated) plus all other details. Today I checked again after reading your email and everything was different, no seat allocations!

OK! I am really confused now. I have a RTW in August/September booked on QFF points and I have just used CheckMyTrip to view all the information including seat allocation and seat maps for the flights.

John, I bet you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer. Using www.checkmytrip.com with IE gives me the format I am used to.

FireFox gives me the new interface front end but after working ONCE with output similar to that as described by QF009 it now crashes most times when using.

I find this wierd; then again it may be due to some form of caching; so my investigations are continuing.

Correct!

I have heard Firefox mentioned many times on this forum but have no idea what it is and to be honest have no great desire to try it. Maybe I will have a look at it one day.

I find FireFox to be a far more useful product that IE.

It has features like remembering the last 10 web pages you have closed, intelligent (when compared to IE's) tabbed browsing, built in Spell checker, add-ons such as 'adblock' and quite a few other facilities.

It does have some issues with some web pages, checkmytrip has always been one of them.

I even carry it around on a USB drive; this enables me to use it in QP PC's with ALL my shortcuts/favorites and I rarely see any advertisements when browsing most web sites.

I assume that you have installed Firefox on the USB drive to be able to do this?

Yep; as well as personal configuration data. I'll PM some more info If you desire.

Ooh - it's gone! :D
The old format is back.

I hope the enhanced version doesn't come back!!
Or maybe it was put up to guage AFF/FT's reaction? ;)

In case the new CMT comes back, you're able to use MMB on BA.com to view (but not change) QF seat allocations.

Hmm a QF agent insisted that I'm able to view AND change QF seat allocations on the QF website. Dug around MYB but to no avail. Anyone knows how?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

Don't think there is a way of changing QF seat allocations other than calling the FF centre.

I tried to log into checkmytrip.com (I have IE), but there was an error and the page could not be open. I will try again later.

The only way to change seat allocations is to use On-Line Check-in, and that is only available less than 24 hours from scheduled departure and only for domestic flights numbered QF400 and above.

Thought so. The agent got pretty irate when I questioned her about it.
