Checking bags through to Hawaii big island

Mrs Batesy and I am off to SFO and HNL next March.
We flying from SFO to HNL with AA and then want to fly onto either Hilo or Kona on the big island with either Hawaiian or Aloha airlines on the same day. We land at HNL with AA at 11am and will fly out to the big island same day, probably around 2PM. My question is can we check our bags all the way through to our final destination on the big island when we first check in with AA at SFO?

Connections and Airport Transfers Westbound
Honolulu - Passengers arriving from the U.S. Mainland will arrive in the Main Terminal in the central concourse. Airport signs will direct connecting passengers to the Wiki-Wiki shuttle bus or covered walkway to the Inter-Island Terminal.

Passengers arriving from Inter-Island flights will take the Wiki-Wiki shuttle bus or covered walkway from the Inter-Island terminal to the Main Terminal in the central concourse for American Airlines flights to the Mainland.
