Would anyone know how to check seat availability on Aircalin (New Caledonia)? I tried Expertflyer but it does not have the data for Aircalin.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

No real way other than a dummy booking although about 48 hours prior to departure they lock that ability for check in.

It's worth noting that on Air Calin flights between Australia and Noumea whole blocks of seats are reserved for Qantas codeshare customers.

Thanks henrus. It is an odd arrangement that QF would hold a block of seats from Aircalin.

It’s a two way thing. The QF 737 flights have 2x2 J seats blocked for SB pax (the rest for QF) and SB flights have a couple middle seat J rows for QF pax. I haven’t looked at whY arrangements but when checkin opens, you should be able to select any available seats in the cabin class.

EF does show the QF seat maps on QF metal - with missing rows (for SB allocation).

If you‘re trying to book / look through QF, a dummy booking definitely works at the seat selection page. I’d suggest using a single pax search. If there‘s two or more pax and there aren’t sufficient seats free in the QF allocation, you’ll just get Window/Aisle request and no visibility of what actual seats are free.

Unless you want to confirm the booking, back out to a new search or “Start again”. Otherwise, QF will hold that booking until midnight and block the seat/fare allocation.
