Check your recent Avis rental charges

Suggest you all check your recent Avis rental charges. I was shocked to see Avis charged my recent rental to my Amex that should have been $201.21 but was charged as $20,121.25. When I called Avis the agent said it is known glitch, and should be reversed within 24 hours, but only after ringing them up and sending proof to them of the overcharge.

It won’t happen automatically, so check your statements!

I assume that was a local (domestic Oz) rental?

Did the email (or hard copy) receipt at drop off show the correct amount?
 
I'm not sure how my bank would've gone with that, as it's way over my credit limit.
