Cheapest way to obtain UA miles?

What are the best ways to accumulate UA miles for the cheapest cpm for us Aussies?

I know that there are a few techniques which involve having a US credit card, but is there anything that we can do to purchase points consistently for under 1.5 cpm? There are also times when promotions are on which obviously help but looking for cheap every day earning opportunities.

Fly united, book cruises, hotels and car hire through their website. I book everything i do through their website and have steadily been accruing points. I also fly CNS LAX twice yearly which racks up about 34000miles.

You will be surprised that alot of the prices in their website for the above are the same, if not cheaper than most comparison websites.

You can use AMEX to Mileage plus, however you have to go through SPG, so 10000 amex points only works out to be 2500 MP points after 2:1 and 2:1 again. Check the united website for more promotions on hotel stays and car hire.
