Cheap Hotel in Singapore

The Holiday Inn Atrium (there are two His in SIN) is NOT worth $200/nt. I will not stay there again at any more than $130/nt.:evil::evil:

I agree that The Atrium was not the highlight of our SIN trip. Although we only spent one night, it is showing its age.

I last stayed there in Jan. Location isn't the best either. They're in the middle of a revamp, but still have plenty of very old and dated rooms. Unfortunately SIN hotel prices can be very high, and even around $S200, it can be "cheap" compared to other hotels in SIN.

As an example, about a month ago I was pricing out hotels in SIN for one night ... out of my usual haunts, they all seemed to start from $S450 / night. Very few hotels in SIN are worth that... but that's what the going rate was, apparently due to some conferences.

The new visa on arrival fee makes Batan not so cheap an alternative.

Has it gone up? I have not been to Indonesia for 10 or so months, it was always a crisp USD$10 for the on arrival visa...

What have they put it up to now?

Mr!

They haven't put it up as such, but they have abolished the 7 day VoA, you now have to buy a 30 day VoA at USD25. It's ridiculous! I often go to Bali for 3 or 4 days, so do many others. Big money grab by Indonesian authorities if you ask me.

oh well, that rules out day trips to BATAN for "cheap" software ;)

Mr!

I have stayed at Aqueen Hotel, Balestier Rooad for two wooks, queen room about $108 all inclusive, one of better deals in Singapore as most hotels $100 or less also have special rates for 'transient cust omers' per hour, if you know what I mean. This hotel is on Balestier road, good hawker centre 100 m away, Novena MRT 4 bus stops, Toa Paoyoh you can walk in 10 minutes, clean, but keep in mind, COSY(that is: small) room, about a foot on either side of bed, 20 mins to Airport, two MRT stops to orchard. They have a sister in Lavender, closer to Airport, but did not go there.
Does anyone know a cheap hotel in singapore , having to wait 2 days after a conference to catch a cruise boat .

Yep, as commented $US25, or the relevant conversion rate for $AU recently was $A28 (IIRC) in another Indonesian port.

It's a single entry visa as well... so going back and forth to SIN would add up very quickly!
