Hi all

I hope this is the right section to post this question

I have booked EK flights using my Qantas Frequent Flyer Points on the QF website it gave me the option to book Chauffeur drive which I have done. When I have gone on the EK website to do my seating it dosen't show up . Is this something I need to be concerned about or as long as it shows on the QF website all is good.

many thanks for any insight.

Hi whereiskym, where is the destination?
If it is to any NZ port from Australia only, there is no CD offered.
This happens all the time on my QF bookings on EK metal.

Sorry my mistake I should have mentioned it in my first post

Sydney Bangkok

and

Kuala Lumpur Melbourne

I can see on the EK site chauffeur drive is not offered in Kuala Lumpur but the others I thought should be fine ?

What class? Only offered in J and F, AFAIK

Are you booked on a QF flight number (but flying on EK metal) or the EK flight number?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

whereiskym - I had some EK flights in Business last year, booked on Qantas and with QF numbers. Booked chauffeur drive on Qantas site, including in Singapore where QF does not offer the service on QF metal. The bookings did not show up on EK when I selected seats, but there was absolutely no problem with the service. On this basis you should be fine, but as others have suggested you might just want to cancel the CD bookings on Qantas if you can book it on Emirates, just for peace of mind.

As an aside, the QF MNB would not let you select seats? maybe if it was the EK flight number, but if booked as a QF flight number you should (in my experience, anyway) be able to book seats from QF website.
At any rate when I have booked EK F flights (eg: LHR-MEL) with QFF points and booked CD on qf.com (not gone near EK's website) there's been absolutely no issue.

In my case QF told me I had to change my DXB-LHR flight to QF metal because of onward connection rules (which I posted about mid last year I think). When I convinced them to move me back, the seat selection (for that sector only) wouldn't stick on QF site, but did on EK. Hence why I had to use EK.

thanks richardmel. This gives me confidence that all will be good am booked on EK flight numbers seats were automatically allocated and there was a message on manage my booking if I want to change seat selection need to go to remora tens website and they had the Emirates booking number listed

Thank you to everyone for your insight I knew I would be able to receive an answer here . Just one of the things I love about this website people are prepared to share their knowledge to help others.

thanks again

I've got a few EK flights on EK metal ( booked via QF website, using QFF points ).

SIN - DUB in J ( and return DUB - SIN ).

If we are only transiting either SIN or DUB ( with several hours to 'kill' ) can we still take advantage of the car, and get the driver to take us on a 'tour' ?

Check your booking. It will show precisely which of your flights are eligible for CD.

I have. It shows I'm eligible, but it seems from other posters, that the system 'may' make errors ?

The question though, was can I use the trip for a 'tour', and not just from point A to the airport ??

Ooops! Have an EK booking using QFF points and have accidentally (months apart) booked chauffeur drive through both EK MMB and QFF MMB. I'm guessing that 2 cars will show up. Through which website should I cancel - QFF or EK - I have EK flight numbers.

Quick question - just about to make a QFFF redemption for travel on EK F australia to London. This still qualifies for EK chauffeur on departure in MEL and on arrival in London?

Yes. We have done exactly this in late December. We booked them through Emirates website not Qantas but the option for booking appears on both sites.
