Chauffer Service

hi

I am flying to Europe for a quick 4 day trip next week and I booked a classic reward seat in Emirates business class through Qantas (flights are EK) and purchase a return ticket (on webjet) in first class with Emirates under Qantas (so flights are QF codes), return goes to Melbourne first, stay overnight and then fly to Sydney in morning.

I am 60kms away from Sydney airport.

Is there a chauffer service included in these flights? I mainly am after a ride to the Sydney airport and then back home.

I tried to call Emirates but after 2 hours on hold I gave up so just wanted to see if any seasoned travelers here know how this works before I call again.

EK changed the rules a couple of years back and have not flown with them since the changes. I think EK binned chauffeur service for awards bookings but not sure if this was just for skywards members, upgrades or booked via partners. IIRC EK knocked me back for the ride to ADL airport to get on QF flight that was going to connect to EK as a QF codeshare, both flights were in the same PNR. Agree, the EK hold times are terrible, I was on hold with them for 2.5 last week before giving up and in the end I just sent them the question via messenger. EK responded in a timely manner.

Have you looked at the EK chauffeur Ts&Cs, they should be on the EK website.

thanks, yeah I looked at the website but its too vague.

The return flight is fully paid and lik eI said its first class ticket, I would hope they would still offer the service for that class and when paying with $$s.

when you say messenger, do you mean Facebook ?

Yes, most reports indicate that EK answers questions within the same day. My question to EK took a couple of days to get a response, see below and also resulted in EK updating their Ts&Cs on their website. I was more concerned in getting back to AU rather than the chauffeur service and I am also traveling EK F

Same here but hopefully it will work out. Im looking at options for tests. I can see the departing airport does the tests but
Im hoping to get one done in another country a day before I depart back home. Should be international certificate so recognised everywhere as I go back. Im only stopping in Dubai. Fingers crossed.

I’m pretty sure no awards bookings are eligible for chauffeur service anymore.
Don’t hold me to it but believe they changed the ruling on transits also and will only offer a chauffeur if it’s deemed a stop over so you might be out of luck

It was a great service… some of our transfers would have cost us an absolute bomb…
Oslo cbd to OSL…. oh my…a nice new Benz and a nice ride
QF numbers were not covered iirc..

QF numbers were covered on our last trip with them.
We had a paid J fare ADL-MEL-DXB-FRA and on the way back CDG-DXB (Stop)- MEL-ADL
We had a chauffeur collect us from home up near the Barossa and take us to ADL in the morning and as we had a late flight out of MEL we had to get a taxi in to the city off our own steam but a chauffeur picked us up in the city and took us back to the airport.
On the way home we had a chauffeur from our Paris hotel to CDG and then one from and too DXB on our stopover before also getting one in ADL to take us home.

Emirates only provides a chauffeur service for 'fully paid business and first class tickets'. Although some understood that to be only full price tickets, it actually means only tickets paid for with money as opposed to with rewards miles. So if you booked, or paid for an upgrade, with miles, you're SOL, sorry.

please, read what I said.

yes, going to Europe is J class with Qantas classic reward purchase.

I am clear now I dont qualify for chauffer service on that booking.

Coming back, is FULLY PAID First class tickets, QF flights on Emirates metal.

Do I qualify for chauffer service coming back ?

If it's a separate ticket (I assume, I know it's ambiguous if on the same booking) then you should qualify for chauffeur services at both ends.
