Changing seating preferences - effect on upgrade request?

Does anyone know whether changing your default seating preference on QFF reset my already submitted upgrade request (I.e. put e request further back in the "queue")?

Makes no difference. Mainly because bronze members are already at the back of the queue =P

And if upgrade is being requested by family member significantly further up in the queue?

we have been advised that the status of the requester is no longer (and allegedly never was) relevant to the priority of the upgrade request. It is all about the status of the pax and the fare basis of the ticket being upgraded.
