Got a bit of a weird one.

I had a stay at Crowne Plaza in Canberra over the weekend (booked through IHG website) and despite booking a King bed room I got Twin beds instead. Was travelling solo so I didn't really care and didn't really think much of it.
I've just book a stay at the Intercontinental in Perth through AmEx Travel and I've just gotten an email from them saying I've booked a King bed room but that they have received a notification "mentioning that you prefer 2 double beds", which is a total surprise to me. Good on them for getting in touch and checking.

What I'm trying to do now is figure out where I've accidentally set this twin bed preference and how to change it. I'm presuming that it has come from my IHG Rewards profile but when I look at my Preferences page (IHG® Rewards Club | Account Management) there's a "Room and Bed Preferences" section that doesn't contain any bed options, just lift proximity and smoking. At this stage I'm guessing there might be some sort of 'hidden' option that has come over from Club Carlson or something but I've no idea where to change it and I'm always a bit reluctant to call up, wait on hold, get an agent that doesn't understand, call up again etc. if I can find it online instead.

Anyone have any experience with this? Any ideas where I can change it without resorting to the call centre?

So I was confusing Club Carlson renaming into Radisson not IHG, but in any case I used Live Chat today on the IHG Rewards site and they sorted it out straight away.

Of course I've no way to see that it's actually fixed but I guess I'll find out next time I book an IHG property.

So, a further follow up on this for the curious. Booked a stay the Intercontinental in Melbourne and the same thing has happened! I looked at the booking and noticed that in "Special Requests" the text "2 DBL BEDS" had been added.

Spoke with the Live Chat again and she's assured me that it's sorted out this time, also mentioned that even though it's now fixed on my profile she couldn't remove it from the existing booking so I should contact the hotel to just confirm with them that I want a King room. Hopefully this problem is sorted out now.
