Changi T1 Upgrade - how noisy?

I called to book a 6-hour stay at the Terminal 1 Transit hotel in Changi, and the reception person told me that they are "upgrading Terminal 1 and so it might be noisy" but wouldn't be drawn on exactly how noisy she meant.

Has anyone experienced HOW noisy it is?

We would be there 6pm - 11pm Friday night, and if its going to be in the middle of a building site with constant jack hammers, then it sort of defeats the point of having a nice rest.

Any ideas?

Yes, I've been there several times recently in T1 (11 pm - 6 am) and never heard a peep.

But YMMV.

You mean the terminal updates ? never heard anything when i have been in the terminal uptil 11am, after that not sure, also not been to the transit hotel in years though.

In the last 4 weeks, flown out of T1 at 9:30am, 12:30pm, 8:30pm and 10:30pm, and had an hour or so in the terminal on arrival from 11pm to midnight, and can't say I've noticed any significant noise from within the terminal itself or any of the lounges I've used (QF, CX & TG).
