Changi SilverKris Lounge

Oddly enough, Singaporeans are entitled to visa free travel in China for 15 days. But Chinese citizens with ordinary passports still need a visa to enter Singapore (although it's pretty easy to get).

ChAFTA included a promise of a 10 year multi entry tourist visa for PR China passport holders, but it's not on offer at the moment.

Hopefully the regular expansion of the transit visa programs in China is part of a plan to eventually offer visa free travel in the future. Of course, it'd help if other countries offered something in return....

I can certainly agree with that, when your layover falls that way.

And I'm sure we can all agree that Changi's KF Gold lounge needs some work in the seats-you-can-sleep-in department (even if they are tolerable...) to make all our Y connections that little bit more pleasant. Just a few of those nice recliner-type chairs you get in the VA lounge with the head wings would be great. Love them. Perfect for a nap.
Had a solid 4 hours sleep in the T2 KrisFlyer Gold lounge last night. Many people put the chairs facing one another and sleeping. No issue at all. A little tired but that's to be expected. Waiting to board QF20 MNL-SYD now.

Or for A$87 you could have gotten a solid 6 hours sleep in a double bed in your own room with your own shower and toilet in ST hotel in T3 - no issue at all - had you done that maybe you would not be a little tired right now - each to their own of course.

Even less if you can handle a room without your own shower - just SGD55 for 6 hours (common showers/WC). Not a bad price.

Just landed in SYD. Another 4 hours sleep in economy on QF20. Flights forgotten already. Money saved will go towards next economy trip with hopefully another interesting routing.

I can just about go out and play 18 holes of golf now. It's all relative. It really is in the mind. We can discuss it over a beer sometime.

Have spent time in both the KrisFlyer Gold and SilverKris lounges in the past 2 weeks. The Gold lounge is average at best and half closed off at the moment. The chairs are not comfortable and an awkward height for using an iPad etc and the food offering mediocre at best. T3 is marginally better than T2.

Now SilverKris on the other hand was a pleasure! If for nothing more than having toilets in the lounge!

Spent time in the Gold lounge as well a couple of weeks ago. Was OK but nothing to write home about, although the steamed pork buns were tasty. Probably fair enough for VA Gold flying SQ to be able to access - but I agree with others that VA Plat should be entitled to access a better lounge.

The food on offer is quite nice. This was at ~10:40pm.

And the make shift bed in the corner is comfortable enough. Just bring the 2 lounge chairs together so there is no gap between the chairs.
