As the title suggests.

Arriving ex-Perth into Terminal 1 @ 2230 with departure to Da Nang next day Terminal 2 @ 1400. Two adults and 2 children.
Different carriers.

If I don't want to deal with immigration after arrival do we opt for Aerotel in T1 or Ambassador T2? Is that even a possibility?
And will we regret trying to do immigration and terminal switch the following day?

Or do we clear the airport entirely and opt for a nearby hotel.

What information am I missing or do I need to keep in mind?

We will have plenty of time to spare before we have to drop bags for our outbound flight, and the kids are very keen to re-experience the Jewel.

As an Australian, immigration takes all of 60 seconds. You complete the landing card in the app a day or two prior. On arrival it's an egate. Having said that, not sure how it works with children though.

I don't recall any issues with the kids last year, aside from making sure the youngest didn't rush through.

If cost is no object, the Crowne Plaza at Changi, land-side but attached to T3 (and easy to get to from T1 and T2) is a very good hotel.

Else take a Grab (the Uber in SIN) to another land-side hotel.

We did several trips DRW-SIN when Miss H was about the same age as your kids @GarrettM

I’d agree with getting them to a hotel pronto especially with an onward connection.

Customs and Immi are straightforward and very efficient at Changi.

As for hotel options.. I’m cheating by linking to my response to a previous SIN hotel question because that was also in response to an AFFer with two kids.

Other posts around mine may also have some options for you to consider. See here.

I third this. A very good investment.
You get off the plane, cruise through immigration, shuttle to terminal 3, then a short walk to Crowne Plaza. You’ll be in your comfortable room super quick for a delicious night’s sleep.
Kids can go wild in the wonderful pool in the morning.
A good breakfast buffet at the hotel or enjoy the food hall on level 2.
Leave you bags at the hotel and walk to Jewel.
Then you’re at the airport ready for your next flight with no hassle.
