Changi Matters

Alternatively any suggestions for a room landside without having to pay the $$$ at the Crowne Plaza,
Yotelair and Aerotel at Changi
However a little way out of Changi but not any further away from the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal will get you better prices such as:
Capri by Fraser or Park Avenue Changi Hotel which are at the level of Changi Crowne Plaza but cheaper

Agree, on my late arrivals and early departures that was a 'go-to' option. I think in the day Le Me.ridian was alive and kicking well in that space. Not sure today but worth a look.
On our most recent trip (couple of weeks ago), we tried to book our usual Village Hotel Changi but they were not accepting bookings as it was still being used by the govt for quarantine. We were directed to Village Hotel Katong, which is a nice hotel in a good area for food and bars, and only a short trip from SIN ($20 taxi ride I think, and room rate excluding b/fast of S$150).

This is back to the pre covid arrangement. Just a slightly longer walk from the Oneworld lounges in T1
I was going to say; that’s where they’ve always been… but then I’ve not traveled through SIN since Jan 2020

Cheers,
Matt.

Well that sucks, have a long layover on the way back from Europe in a few weeks. i was going to eat up some time browsing whisky.

Looks like I will have to take advantage of the Krishop buy 2 get 50% off deal that ends on the 28th and preorder some to my seat instead.

The LOTTE in T1 is a short train ride away; as well these are two smaller retail outlets in T3 nearer each Transit desk.

Good to know. Thanks.

This one used to have quite a good selection under the previous brand with the smaller ones understandably being rather limited.

That they were often happy to open bottles to try before you buy was also a great benefit.

Alternatively any suggestions for a room landside without having to pay the $$$ at the Crowne Plaza, thats still relatively close to Changi??
Paid <$400 for Crowne Plaza and I can say it was worth every cent for the convenience and quality of accommodation.
We checked in on the app and sailed through checkin. There is also the option of getting your own room card.
Upgrade to tarmac view room on request. Large room, comfy bed, good amenities for travellers.
I love to swim, so laps in the pool between flights is a big bonus for me.
Less than 10 minutes from leaving the room to being seated in the lounge.
Value = quality/cost

when we checked in to CP Changi there was a queue (after midnight arrival). Only one person checking in. After waiting a while I noticed a self checkin kiosk which no one was using.

Didn't know about the app checkin. How did you get the room key?

@ellen10, just note that it is a fair walk from any of the terminals - can be over 1km depending on which gate you arrive into. Changi is massive. But highly recommend. The other hotels are further along than CP
