Changes to Westpac credit card point earn rates from 1/8/25

I am new to Westpac Altitude Qantas Black card and wanting to put through as much spend as possible before 1/8/25. Whilst I realise it mentions government spending doesn't earn points, I realise there are some other cards that say this but still give points for council rates, water bills etc. Can anyone who has tried such spending on the Westpac Altitude card advise for sure that it doesn't earn points? Thanks

Definitely no points for council rates, car rego etc. Can't comment on water bills as our provider accepts Paypal so I use Amex for them.

I pay my quarterly rates with BPAY via ZipPay and then pay off the full amount with the card. ZipPay does earn points.

Only one I know of is citi prestige

Citi Signature too.

BoM also has changed their earnings with caps now apply from August.

Has anyone tried to get their annual fee pro-rated refund due to these changes. I feel its fairly substantial change.

Unrelated to above I was promised an annual fee for life of card. So I lodged a complaint and after nearly a month they offered me a similar fee for life of card but I had to pay the QF fee which is a new fee and I understand that. I had to find my statements from 15 years ago as my card number had changed a few times and they had switched me to a new card name during that time. By giving them the old card number it assisted them in finding the promise of life of card fee as part of a retention promo back then. So if that was offered to you back then you may try the same.
