Hmmmm. I wonder what will happen to the bookings already made for post 31 March. There's a big CWA conference being held in Moree 5-9 May with 1000+ (yes, 1000+) women expected in the town, and planes were already heavily booked. I looked at booking flights up and back some time ago, but the planes were just about booked out then.

There's hardly a bed left in Moree from Sat 4 May until about 10 May.

Edit: I've got a message through to CWA Head Office so they can warn anyone flying up in May to check their bookings. Thanks markis10 for the heads up.

I'm not sure I understand.

Does this notice indicate that of the routes listed, from 30 March 2013, only the listed carrier next to them may operate that route?

So what is Qantas losing out of the deal?

Seems competition isn't quite alive and well in regional NSW. I wonder how the target communities are seeing this (although suffice to say the government also helps greatly in maintaining services at points which may not be profitable per se).

These are the routes where effectively the state government pays for an air service to operate, of which we have a few in Queensland but none in Victoria. Qantas has lost moree but given the traffic on the routes needing subsidys, it's unlikely to be much of a negative impact re profit and loss, and frees up aircraft more profitable routes.
