Am I alone or does any other Malaysia Airlines Enrich members feel ripped off by the change from Km to miles based rewards?

I several 10's of thousands of credit card points I wanted to swap across to the program and they sneak in a major change to their program in the Xmas break. 4 January to be precise, I heard about it first from Amex on their statement and not from MAS till last week. It is cough customer service to notify people after the event or sneak it through in the holiday time of year, let alone RUDE.

The change means that points were earned on km flown now miles (a factor of 1/1.6) harder. Let alone the immediate reduction in Amex points value two amex points are needed for each mile as opposed to 1 point = 1 km previously. This means a 20% decrease in point value, but no mention of decreasing the Enrich poinrts needed for upgrades and flights.

No wonder they are second tier and are likely to stay so with such churlishness. I can't be the only Enrich member they lose from this, Loyalty Scheme = ? Maybe it does not translate well in Malaysia?

Relative to the changes with the QF program these seem relatively insignificant. -- Or am I over simplifing things :?:

:D

I agree though that the methodology is bordering on pathetic :!:
