Saw a sneaky advertisement on Facebook about changes to Le Club Accor, main thing seems to be the introduction of Status points from 2017. I've not received an email but could've missed here. Perhaps not surprised there was no mention of this change here.

Status points now earned between 5 and 25 per 10Euro. slight reduction in the number of points required per level, 2000 Status Points for silver, 7000 for gold and 14000 for platinum. I'm not sure what it means in terms of cost. But silver would appear to now be achievable for euro 800 at the correct hotel brands, so platinum would be euro4200.

Also soft landings and some sort of calendar year arrangement for status retain. i.e. keep status until end of next calendar year.

We had a first look at this here (with some $$ analyses) but good to be reminded of it. Unless I've qualified for Plat off my own bat this year (having being promoted from Gold courtesy of AMEX this year), this is enough for me to give Accor away. Their web site and phone application and customer service continue to be shyte.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but have been thinking about this as the 'evolved' system is getting closer to kicking in. It looks harder to earn/maintain status. But there doesn't seem to be anything to say Accor won't have status points bonus specials, just like QF occasionally does.
