[TD]British Airways (BA) continues to be a key partner, with Qantas Frequent Flyers able to earn points on eligible BA flights (with a BA flight number on their ticket).[SUP]ΩΩΩΩ[/SUP] For members travelling on a BA flight from 31 March 2013, Status bonus and Minimum Points Guarantee will no longer apply and Discount Economy˜˜˜˜ travel classes will earn points at 0.25 points per mile travelled. Noooooooooooo! I have a OS trip booked with BA for later this year. Dang, I knew this would happen

To be expected. At least it isn't the disgrace that is the MH earning table.

Isn't this a very clear breach of Qantas's own T&Cs with relation to material changes to the program? That is, shouldn't we have been given, at the very least, 30 days' notice?

Is it material? One airline change in earn...not sure it would qualify. Bet the lawyers could take a long time to discuss what is considered material.

The provision of miles for BA flights would seem to be a benefit provided by BA and so would be 30 days where possible

If I read this correctly, it is only for BA flight numbers. So if booked on QF flight number on BA metal, Do I still receive minimum points etc based on QFF?

Frequent Flyer - Earning Points - Fly - Airline Partners

I'm so happy to learn that I will consistently earn less than 125 points on most European routes:lol: It was so confusing before this enhancement...

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

I have an award flight in May, and then a SYD-LHR-SYD in July. I suspect the latter will be my last trip to Blighty with BA. :(

You'll miss those bacon rolls with brown sauce ;)

Award flights are still the go with BA......easiest way to get 4 x F/J seats out of SYD using QF points:D

Quite the 'enhancement', although many of us suspected this would occur anyway. Luckily I just scraped in with my next (and probably last) BA sector in J on the 30th March!

I usually do MEL-ARN once or twice a year. I think QF will continue to codeshare on the LHR-ARN route because EK don't fly there.
You should be good. I have lost LHR-MXP/LIN, LHR-FCO/ORY, and LHR-CDG. But I'm sure there are countless others. :(

I do believe this is pretty much what I predicted. :D

Only slightly better than the MH table.

Exactly which clause of the T&Cs is being changed? I'll be surprised if you can find one clause that is being changed. Therefore, there is no requirement to provide notice.

What a disgrace.

I booked BA on the basis of the bonus earn (travel end April-early May) and have for a long time put up with the LHR transit / BA euro connections due yo a) loyalty to QF and b) this earn value.

Notification (not that i've received it yet!) in mid March for end March cessation is appalling.

Qantas wonder why customers are a) cynical about QF and b) deserting them in droves.

When the email hits my inbox i'll certainly complain. Of course, that will undoubtably be fruitless.

The irony is I've just read this thread after my last post congratulating QF for engaging their customers (Rockpool lunch thread).

Disgusted = me.
