Not sure if this should be a separate thread for ANZ cards to a general one for all cards.

Anyway - ANZ has announced the upcoming changes to travel insurance with their various cards. Mine is an ANZ Travel Adventurer Card (which falls into their new classification of a Level 2 card).

The travel insurance with this card is now completely useless (to me) - only covers trips up to 30 days - Mr LL and I usually travel overseas once or twice a year for 6 weeks and even if it covered longer trips most areas of cover have been dropped (e.g. travel delay, lost luggage, etc etc. - to me one of the most common reasons for making a claim).

So got quotes for our 2027 European trip (which includes a cruise) and it's $4300 for both of us (Mr LL is over 80 but I'm still a sprightly 78) - neither of us have any pre-exisiting conditions or take any medication.

So why or why do I keep this card - the next hit will be to the points (Velocity) earned. Of course replacing it with some other card (I use this card for non-AUD expenses as it has no foreign currency charges) could be tricky given the banks' reluctance to issue cards to retirees.
