If you ensure that your contact information is correct then they will call, if not you can call the Melbourne F Lounge and ask for the host (the number is on the QF website)

Sounds like a good plan. Just thought it would be hard to tell when they should have called by if they are calling the night before. And if they somehow did not call, then calling the F lounge in the morning .... could it be too late? I assume that phone call organises F host at both ends of the trip?

I've never had to think about that personally... But in the event they don't call you're really not missing much. They walk you to the lounge and then to the plane. On arrival they do the exact same thing but in reverse essentially. I doubt you'll have much trouble, they usually never screw up :)

Thanks m8, i am not booking for myself, so F host would be a useful extra pair of hands.

Fingers crossed it goes smoothly.

They don't always call. In which case, either call QF or the F Lounge the day prior to book spa treatments, and get the mobile number to call on approach. At MEL they will meet you kerbside with a porter.

At LAX, you simply need to ask to be escorted to the lounge and the aircraft. The LAX host is quite charming.

Thanks. How about if you are connecting from an inbound AA flight into T4?

I guess you could ask at the lounge desk to be escorted to the aircraft by a host if you are bypassing the check in desk, but that's where the hosts usually wait.

Can I ask if they have every had a Fhost from Domestic?

Would be helpful as I'm coming from SYD Domestic and then tranfer bus to SYD International but will checked all the way through. Hopefully they could escort us from the SYD Domesitic terminal through immigration etc.

I don't think so, I think they only operate from T1 at SYD

I've never had an F when connecting CBR-SYD then international. With a express pass it doesn't take that long to get through immigration. We are not a big user of F hosts anyway - prefer to be independent ....

I totally agree, very little benefit at SYD. Much nicer to be incognito and zip to the Flounge ASAP :)

That is very considerate!

:)

I made her go for WP and she never looked back!

I drive into Qantas Valet at T1, park it myself and politely request they don't move it (which they are happy to, as it means less work!)

Host and Porter are called on approach to meet us at the valet car park. I walk Mamma to F check in, she generally only has carry on, then hand her over to host to escort her through immigration and security and onto the lounge.

I know she doesn't have to worry about a thing and will be collected to pre-board before everyone else.

It's really a simple service, but it makes a world of difference and reduces much of the stress of air travel.

Wonderful that she is still enjoying life and travelling - how old is she (if that is not a rude question!)

About 70, extremely active and will never retire from her professional career. I was the one who convinced her that if she continues to work, then she most travel several times a year in F :)
