Just want to clarify something. I can fly code share LHR-CDG on a QF # but BA metal and use the BA lounges in LHR. However if I fly CDG-LHR on a QF# (not even sure if they exist) on BA metal, does this mean I have NO access to the lounges in CDG because BA don't actually operate the lounge?

Yes, it is exactly as you say. BA only has lounge access at CDG for its own Gold/Silver members and Club Europe passengers. The Lounge is not a BA Lounge.

It is an interesting question. Personally I would suggest checking with BA. To be on the safe side in dealings with CDG Dragons, I would suggest taking the BA flight number. The same SCs are earned if crediting to QF and the mileage earning is only a max of 750 miles less

I have encounted this problem before. I have previously flown direct from CDG on a QF codeshare to Singapore on AF metal. The position being (which was confirmed on here) that there is no lounge access in CDG unless flying J or F on the flight (ie no lounge access for WP).

For next flight in October, have re-rerouted on a QF codeshare (QF3625) on BA metal to LHR, then LHR to Singapore on QF. So to answer your initial query, yes you can get a QF codeshare from CDG to LHR on BA metal.

The benefit of this is at least lounge access in LHR before the long-haul flight. Can live without CDG lounge access before this flight.

My position is slightly different as flying Y, I think it may be different if you are in D, but CDG would have to be the most difficult airport to opine on lounge access.

Having visited that lounge (flying BA in Club Europe) I can confirm you are not going to miss anything. Its a poor excuse for a lounge. The beer was not even kept in the fridge. We left the lounge and visited the bar downstairs and had a few pints of Guinness for the flight preparation.
