Damn. Just saw this thread.
would have loved to catch up. But I am public transport dependent. So hopefully next time
Where do you live? We're scattered all over the place and we're a friendly bunch. We might be able to help with transportation if required.

Hi All,
Sorry to come in very late - I didn't think that I could make it tonight, but a few things have fallen into place and both my partner and I can make it if there is still space.

Thanks.

For a moment or two I thought you meant Cobar, but southerners only of course. I think of Canberra as CB (YSCB) in ICAO speak. It works moderately well, even as you sleep or have another glass of champagne, but you may care to reflect that very little of Australia's aviation heritage has anything to do with NSW.

Charles Kingsford Smith was from Brisbane; Qantas was from Queensland. Reg Ansett, who failed but at least had a good go, was from Victoria.

What did NSW do?

It seems strange that you'd think that CBR means a town with a population of about 4,000 people in the middle of nowhere where it's wikipedia page does not use the initials CBR once, compared to the national capital which uses the initials CBR everywhere, from our airport code, to advertising slogans. :)

Good night of story swapping; good to see some new people and old originals returning from interesting places. We'll do another in autumn - see you then.
