These are tentative cancellations and there are other flights impacted! According to article, it said pilot illness - but a HK aviation blog is saying it has to do with flying hours exceeded for the year! According to HK aviation department, maximum flying hours is 900 hours per year

pilot hours could be a part of a bigger problem - severe shortage of pilot crew, now they want to hire trainee pilots to help... but I doubt it will work as that method will take longer than recently retired pilots re-hired.
