G'day, flying CX Business Class, Syd - LHR in a couple of weeks. Away for a couple of months. I am a coeliac and have ordered gluten free meals from Cathay for all flights. What interests me is would the GF meal served to business class pax be of the same standard/quality as I would get if I were in Economy? 3 of the flights are on the 777-300 and one on the A330.

I have flown Economy with Cathay before but not gone business class.

I normally travel to UK PE with Qantas, but have lashed out this time. GF food on Qantas PE was very poor, a salad was about all I got.:( I am expecting something a little better on CX, oh no !! not a bowl of steamed rice.

I usually order an Indian Vegetarian meal. Then it is gluten free, dairy free and meat free. Just how I like it.

I never gave much thought to those with a problem with Gluten. But Mrs GPH "may" have an intolerance. ( yet to be confirmed.) the ramifications are quite extensive and understanding the cause and effect a challenge in itself. So while I may not have a solution for you, you now know there is one less person in the world who is / was insensitive to your plight.

Possibly a good choice - however ordering the specific gluten free meal will ensure gluten free bread - which you may not get ordering plain Indian.

Sounds good but what do they thicken the gravy with? I do a lot of cruises and the Indian Cooks on lines like P&O UK use rice flour for thickening the curries which is fine. Plain flour is not. No Wheat/Barley/Oats and Rye for Coeliacs.
