Cathay AUD$250 off offer

So I've been looking at CX fares for a potential trip to the UK in November, and lo and held I get an email offer for AUD$250 off Business Class fares to anywhere, including London. Ok, lets go search, the same flights on the same days now being priced about $2-3k more than before the offer was made.
