Cash or Card? Countries where you still need cash.

Just came back from Uzbekistan. Need cash, for markets (to bargain) and food carts on the side of the road. Everything else is card, even AUD $0.5 for a bottle of water in a convenient store is Visa / MasterCard. Buses metro all take international Visa MC. Taxis would need cash if you just flag down on the road and negotiate, but you shouldn't do that, use Yandex and MyTaxi and they take international cards again.

We just got back from an epic road trip around the south-eastern part of Australia including Tassie by ferry. The only cash we needed was coins for the laundry machines in the caravan parks.
