Cash or Card? Countries where you still need cash.

I know this post is rude, but there is an "International ATM Operator Fees" wiki page on Whirlpool. It would be good if people check that before asking, and also to update it when they come back from their trips.
Unfortunately, that wiki isn’t infallible and only as good as the input.

I refer to it routinely but can be just plain wrong.

Also, the reliance on Westpac cards is confusing since you might dodge an ATM fee but they charge 3%.
 
It is referring to Westpac group customers doing withdrawals at Global ATM Alliance ATMs.

I dont use such a card.
Don’t bother. 3% forex fee even though they waive the ATM fee…

I do have the WBC travel money card linked to a dormant WBC account for a worst case scenario when I need cash but 3% is less than ATM imposed fees in non WBC cards.
