They couldn't claim to be the spirit of Australia if you can't take your grog on with you!
 
I did a 6 pack of Moët as carry on with Jetstar from BNE to DRW. The agent weighed the box and then asked me to put 3 bottles in my backpack. She weighed the box again and I was on my way. She said repack it airside. It was a cracker New Year's Eve that year.

I ended up settling for two six packs that I carried on board. The thought of a can breaking and soiling other peoples luggage was the ultimate decider.
