I am looking for a new backpack for carry-on use. I have a nice PacSafe Vibe 20l backpack that I use daily and for quick day trips is usually all I take as I can fit a shirt, socks and deodorant in the front pocket with my laptop and chargers in the back. I am looking for something a bit bigger that can fit a full change of clothes for overnight stays as well or even fit my mirrorless camera in the front pocket. Any suggestions, what do you use?

Just go up a few sizes...Pacsafe Vibe 28L? Suitcase opening, hidden backstraps, pass through and internal compression. Got it on sale during Covid under 100 bucks. Bit heavy but still under 10kg packed.

That was my first thought, and at the moment my current plan but figured I'd see if anyone else has recommendations. I might just go the 40l version.

Just double checked my bag currently is a 25L so will go the 40L sizie if I stick to the Pacsafe Vibe (which I have been very happy with, got it at the start of Covid and have used it daily since as well as on dozens of domestic flights, usually thrown under the seat in front).

I have a Swiss Polo carry on that would suit you, and I've taken some pics of it but lack the skills to post them. It has a single shaft handle which telescopes for carry on, 2 compartments, numerous pockets, with some hidden for things like keys and wallets, hidden backstraps, roller wheels which I prefer in lieu of the dreaded spinners as they enable me to push the bag in front of me and pull my suitcase behind me. It weighs 2.5kg - I've had it so long I can't remember how much I paid but I think it was $45 in Mr Mustafa's Market in Singapore. I believe it would meet your requirements.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Do you care about the brand? If you're young or young at heart and want the relaxed vibe, could go for the streetwear/surf/skateboard brands. They have enough space/pockets to fit all those things, plus a laptop (and a strap outside for the skateboard if you desire).

I love my Eagle creek expanse hauler. Weighs less than a kg. Maybe doesn’t have the pocket you need for camera but should fit inside now worries. I’ve used it for trips 4-5 days long.https://www.eaglecreek.com/products/expanse-hauler-pack

I have the Nordace Siena backpack.
I just did a 3 night trip to Magnetic Island and it fit everything including a beach towel and a pair of runners as carry on.
It has a million pockets and compartments.
I also use it for work as it has a laptop compartment.
It's quite comfortable to wear. I also did an overnight to Canberra recently and wore it all day for both days I was there and did lots of walking

Some good alternatives suggested. I wonder if it is my US14 size shoes that hinders my ability to do multi day trips with some of the suggested packs on his and other threads

I did not usually take spare shoes in carry on either, size 12-13us for me.
