Card problems in Hong Kong

After initially working our debit cards of three varieties stopped working in Hong Kong. We rang Citibank and there was no apparent problem. Eventually we went into a citibank hong kong branch (independent) and they showed very little interest in our problem. They told us it was an old card. We said, so old it worked 10 days ago?? Eventually we were told that Jetco was doing a major software upgrade and it was suggested we try standard chartered or hsbc. We had already tried both and they are also on Jetco. Finally we came across a Hang Seng ATM and all but one card worked fine as they are not on Jetco. Who knows why the third card didn't? too hot to wonder.

All the atms in HK except HSBC and Hang Seng are on jetco sounds like they did an upgrade that might have affected your cards.
