Can't book flights to Dhaka (Bangladesh)

For the very first time, I received an error message that there were no flights available from Brisbane (or Sydney) to Dhaka, on any day. I expect that I just haven't seen this error before because I don't often travel to anywhere more obsure than LAX, NYC or London.

I was under the impression that Qantas would happily take me to Singapore, and book connecting flights onto Dhaka through Singapore Airlines/Cathay, etc. Alternatively transiting through HK on Cathay on both legs.

Is it really impossible to book this trip through the Qantas website? Any tips very much appreciated.

Looks like you can book via HKG (Qantas to HKG and then Cathay) using Classic Rewards. But not for cash.

Probably Qantas just has no commercial fares filed to this destination, for some reason.
