Hi,
Just found out the very down side of the new QF through Dubai package! I live in Singapore and I cannot fly to anywhere but Australia on a QF ticket. Singapore to Dubai is only an EK ticket even if they have a QF flight number on the timetable. One assistant (I had to call - the website is not at all helpful - infers you can book but you can't) told me the routing from SIN - Barcelona was only SIN - DUB - LHR - Barcelona.... not exactly efficient but if I was flying from Australia I could fly DUB - Barcelona....

Not all roses for everyone !!!!!

You could try SQ for SIN-BCN as they fly direct. Save yourself a lot of hassle.

What is the issue with not having a QF ticket? If it is flying on EK to DXB on a QF flight number you get points and status credits. Even if QF could ticket it EK would still get the bulk of the revenue.

Putting aside the reason why the pax wants a QF number and ignoring SQ (pax probably wants QF points and SCs), this does seem a bit of an anomaly.

You cant fly SIN- BCN except via LHR??

I assume a pax originating in Australia can stop-over in SIN for a few days and then fly SIN-DXB-BCN ?

Not allowed a QF flight number ? Very odd.

Maybe something to do with traffic rights ex-SIN or the QF/EK agreements says? It seems that you need a QF operated sector on a ticket ex-SIN to use QF codes on EK. That leaves DXB-LHR as the only option for using QF code SIN-DXB.

And the comment "I cannot fly to anywhere but Australia on a QF ticket" is not strictly true. QF tickets issued in SIN will get you to New Zealand, and I am sure you can get to France also (well at least to Noumea) :p;)
