I don't think this card to so valuable to me as the annual fee is a little more than the 'free' flight. So, just before the annual fee in about 5 days, I'm thinking of cancelling. Then, I will be looking for another deal elsewhere.

Is there a way to get my last 750 points credited before I depart? ;)

I suggest calling up first, threatening to leave, getting the annual fee waived OR getting some bonus points to stay and THEN cancel. :D

Ok, giving that a go. W' the free flight, I'd guess not, but will surely try.

What's the advice plse .... I just called Amex, they offered 50% reduction and despite some urging, they stuck w' that offer.

Re the renewal date, I emailed them and called a couple of times over the past month to get my renewal date and I was given 2 different dates in April, and one date in mid May. The last person said the mistake was because they have a bunch of inexperienced new employees in Phoenix. Amex is usually better prepared and reliable.

Perhaps I should let it go and get another card that gives Velocity points esp a good sign on.

If the annual fee was a little more than the free flight - surely at 1/2 price it's gotta be cheaper than the free flight? If so it sounds like a no brainer

Yes, in that sense surely is a no brainer. I was thinking about the people on here who get free cc annually, but not w' a flight thrown in too. I'm going for it.

I was able to successfully bank 50k QF points, get the free flight AND get full fee refund. The flight was booked for travel after I wasn't a cardholder anymore. So anything is possible!
