shesh - they'd have to be the most complex rule fare ever ... anyone know if i'm i likely to be hit up for the $50 change fee for each sector, or just once (ie, for the total PRN)?

so annoying ... i booked a stack of flights jan next year, but something's come up on ONE of those days ... but it's just easier to hold off the entire trip -- but if it's gonna be $$$, maybe i need to work something out ... i think the BNE-ROK fare was $65 alone - $50 off that and ... :/

Multicity cannot be cancelled without the assitance of the call centre which means a $50 rebook and a $35 call centre fee, or $85 per flight.

AFAIK, most such Qantas fees are per person per booking.

Bookings - Fare Types

yeah ... agreed - confusing aint it ...

i originally thought the $35 applies just to cancelling "the booking" (multicity has not option but to ring up) ... but wasn't sure about the $50 charge, since it doesn't technically kick in till you book the next flight (ie, 'change the flight'), and the charge has the footnote "Price charged per person per booking" ...

anyway - just wanted an idea of what most likely scenario would be to determine whether it's worth finding some other workaround to avoid cancelling and being hit up with crazy fees, but seems i will have no option anyway now and will be cancelling, so i'll update with what happened once i do it.

thx guys.

update ~

so the outcome - it's pretty good news!

really, unless attempting to redeem on a multicity (which is odd, because it seems contradictory as they say credit vouchers can only be used towards one way/round trip fares, not multicities!?!?), it more or less is the same as any other cancellation ...

click cancel on my bookings online (ie, free) - then it'll just cost $50 (as usual ... ie, once) when redeeming against the new fare (ie, the 'change fare') ... the only time they said i pay the $35 and HAVE to do it via the phone is to redeem on a multicity -- again, i have no idea what they mean by that, since i was under the impression CV couldnt be used for multicities - but i wont be redeeming that itinerary anyway, so i left it at that

feeling pretty happy :p

Everytime my work books a multicity the cancel option does not come up online after ticketing at all, maybe they have fixed it or you have been told the wrong thing.
