Hi guys,

I've trolled for a while but to no avail finding any current information...

Does anybody know what the current fees are to cancel an ASA booked into 'U' class from BNE-SIN (booked prior to the simpler/fairer enhancements).

I was (perhaps falsely) under the impression that because it was a business class ticket it was fully refundable?

When I called the premium desk the lady on the phone told me it would be $300 per person to cancel the booking! Outrageous!

Many thanks in advance for any help!

Unfortunately I didn't get a copy at the time of booking...

I thought all ASA's were booked as full fare equivalents (i.e. refundable) tickets and not into the 'saver' categories... oh well... my bad i guess

Your flight should have been booked as a fully refundable Business class flight i.e. you should not have to pay the $300 cancellation fee.
MASA bookings should not be booked as a Business saver.
I had a similar problem in the past which took 45 min by phone to rectify - had to explain to them that wrong booking category was mage initially. Eventually they agreed and I did not have to pay the cancellation fee (3 x $300 = $900).
You are better off calling during business hours. Also indicate that during your booking, Qantas staff did not inform you this was not a standard Business class seat.
Good luck

Does anybody know where the actual conditions/rules for ASA's can be located?

They are not available on-line either before or after booking. You need to ask the CSR to read them out to you at time of booking and before paying.

Hmm, one of those "it's not a secret, you just don't need to know" T&C's.

Matt

I should clarify that this only happened after the ability to book xASAs was removed from the online booking engine.

So realistically they could book an ASA into any class they felt like at the time (flexible/saver)... And it would be our word against theirs? Sounds fishy...

I got told on Sunday when I booked my status run ASA that it was nonrefundable....I don't care as I intend to take my 1.5x SC run no matter what
