I'm traveling from Perth to Sydney on the 20th of January 2015 and had an upgrade confirmed in October 2014. I recently decided against using the points for this upgrade (ex Jetstar A330) and canceled the upgrade a couple of weeks ago. When I go into manage my booking the upgrade status is listed as "Requested for cancellation". My question is does the cancellation of the upgrade not happen until the business seat is re sold? and would it be possible get the cancellation fee waived if I contact the call center? Any assistance is appreciated thanks.

You'll need to call Qantas on 131313 and they will do it immediately for you. There will be a 5,000 point penalty. The online system seems really buggy for cancellations.

Remember too that the a/c could swap at any time. heck you may even get EBV (not likely I grant you) and then you'd be spewin'

Thanks for the help, the call center sorted it out no problems, and yes Richard would be disappointing if it was changed to one of the refurbished planes!!!!
