Hi All,

Not sure if asked before (did search).

I am travelling PER-SYD-CHC-IVC in J as an SG. I have only hand luggage and would like to avoid check in q. Unfortunately OLCI is not an option as the connection is on NZ (it's all ticketed on QF).

Can I check in at the QP in Perth?

First flight is the red-eye of 18th Nov Thurs.

Thanks,

Jakob.

Can you please confirm that your onward conx from SYD is with NZ. If this is the case you can check in at the lounge as QF will only be giving you the b/pass for the PER/SYD sector and you will then need to check-in with NZ when you arrive into SYD as QF and NZ dont have an interline agreement for thru checks.

I have checked in at SYD QF J Lounge for SYD-MEL-HKG a few times but also have been told "No sorry" a few times, I think it really depends on the lounge agent and timing, generally they have to make a few calls, but it can be done.

A QP agent in PER should be able to check you through to at least CHC.

I have checked in with HLO at the MEL QP for MEL-xSYD-LAX.

Good to know. I'm doing MEL-SYD-SFO tomorrow. Will try this at the QF J lounge tomorrow (leaves more time for my guest and I to have breakfast from the new menu).

Thanks for that.

Will at least give it a go. I guess the worst that could happen is an extra trip through sercurity (and 10 min q at check in).

Will update with how it goes as well.

Jakob.

I've searched but this is the nearest thread to my question.

Is there a priority Domestic-International connection desk in MEL for WPs?

I was originally leaving from MEL-LAX so I would have gone to the First Class International checkin, now I've been changed to SYD-MEL, then SYD-LAX. Do I have to line up with all the others who are catching flights? Please someone tell me no......

Can confirm the MEL J lounge had no problems issuing me Boarding Passes for MEL-SYD, SYD-SFO and SFO-LAX which was on a separate PNR. That was no luggage to check.

As serfty and the other thread says, if you do, go to the international connections desk at MEL. There is no 'WP/F' International Connections queue, it's just one queue. It's usually fairly quiet. If you have no luggage, use the lounge though. Much quicker and no queueing at all.
