Hi all

I am a Qantas WP travelling on Cathay from HK to Sydney with my two teenage (<18 kids). I can’t access the Cathay lounges with both kids because Cathay only allows one guest (kids included).
However the Qantas information is less clear. The policy is that kids don’t count as guests in Qantas operated lounges and so I think I should have access. But when I went to the F lounge in Sydney on the way out, I was told that the Qantas policy doesn’t apply when not flying Qantas. I couldn’t find that on the web-site so asking for some help here.

Thanks in advance

This is the extract from the QF website for WPs. Unfortunately the T&C’s do only support additional child access when travelling on a QF flight number. I’d still give it a go.

Guest access

  • When travelling on a flight with a Qantas (QF) or Jetstar (JQ) flight number on your ticket Qantas International Lounge access is also provided to one guest and up to two children (aged 4 - 17 years)35 who are travelling with you on the same flight that day.
  • When travelling on a flight with a oneworld member airline flight number on your ticket Qantas International Lounge access is provided to one guest who must be travelling that day on a oneworld member airline marketed and operated flight.
  • When travelling on a flight with an Emirates (EK) or China Eastern (MU) flight number, Qantas International Lounge access is provided to one guest who is travelling with you on the same flight.
