Got this email yesterday. Searched but found no other threads. I guess there's no harm in a lazy 10 000 points. But is there any real benefit in the card otherwise? You pay on it rather than the WOW card? You get the 4c off with that anyway so what's the point of running another card. I haven't looked into it deeply as yet.

Introducing the Caltex StarCard - the only fuel card to reward your business with Qantas Points

Hi Warks,

The road ahead just got a whole lot more rewarding. For the first time ever, your business can now earn Qantas Points on fuel as well as eligible in-store purchases at Caltex when using a Caltex StarCard[SUP]^[/SUP].
Bonus offer - get 10,000 Qantas Points
Open a Caltex StarCard account by 30 April 2017 to receive 10,000 bonus Qantas Points for your business*.

Doesn't seem to like the formatting but you get the picture.

Readers should note that this is a business offer and so you need:

All Applicants
  • A director/partner/owner/trustee is required to complete this application
  • ABN and/or ACN
  • Driver’s licence, Medicare card or Passport for Electronic ID check
  • Details of Directors/Partners/Trustees
  • Vehicle details including Registration, Make, Model, Year and State
  • Banking details for Direct Debit

And their sign up function is a bit borked. Got redirected to Veda and now cannot access the application (and others are reporting similar).

So I'm thinking just sign up, get the points and cancel.

Any downsides to this (obviously via a company etc etc)? 10k free points is 10k free points, right?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Not free. 10K by the number of monthly fees before they post.. Say 3 or 4 monthly fees.

So cheap points, but not free points.

This is a credit facility right? Assume there would be a credit enquiry involved?

Thanks. I started working on the application but it got too deep for me too quickly (I'm busy) so I dropped it for now. Monthly fuel use? 500L!! Err...

The application does allow for this to be a sole trader as longs as you have an ABN, lucky old me I do have one of those. In fact one as a sole trader and one for a company.

Wondering what they'll think if I sign up under sole trader and four different company entities? I've done one, I might wait the "2-3 days processing" before I do any more.

Went through the apply process couple days ago, went to a "login" page as others have reported so I emailed them and they replied saying a "glitch" and fixed now but have to start over with application. No mention of fees but considering its $2.95 pm as found by others, may not bother. If was a free 10,000 points, great, but now its costing, so undecided.

It also requires you fill in a paper guarantee form (puncturing the limited liability of your company and making you personally liable) and have it witnessed by a third party.

All in all, too much effort basket for me. I get enough points just paying with the QF Business Amex for my petrol (and everything else).

I signed up immediately. Late last night I was approved with a $5000 credit limit (far too much) and have just linked the account to my Business Rewards account. See you in ~90 days! :p

Did you have to fill out the paper form that kyanar makes mention of?
