Years back when booking reward seats on the Qantas website the calendar would show little symbols for each class of reward seats were available. That search ability seems to have disappeared. Is there another way to see this information without going into every single date one by one to see if rewards are available?

(Currently one symbol shows that rewards are available for a date but not which class - I'm trying to find BC so it's infuriatingly slow to go through every single date one by one for multiple cities trying to find an option that would work.)

Can be viewed using multicity search and flexible with dates option selected. See this thread:

Thanks! That's very helpful (although frustratingly no ability to search via Doha.) Wish they'd bring back the function for the one way/return...

Edit - actually I CAN see Doha flights :)

Does anyone know if there is a 3rd party software that allows you to search for business class rewards availability on QF planes only? I don't recall QF website ever having this option. Clicking through and then finding that business availability is only on non-QF planes is quite time consuming when trying to find QF-planes only business availability.

ExpertFlyer is one option as might be AwardNexus (which I do not use so cannot vouch for).

I actually find though the QF website to be fine for searching QF only rewards to be honest. It's partners that can be problematic...

Thanks - is there a way you can exclude non-QF planes on QF website?
Not obviously that I know of, though I would like to understand more about why you are not interested in non-QF operated reward space? Most punters tend to prefer partner airlines' premium offerings (eg: Emirates or Cathay Pacific) to QF :D

I'm looking at SYD-SIN flights so would prefer QF plane since it is the only one other than BA that is a direct (and therefore shortest) flight and the other options usually require more classic aware points (presumably because of the longer distance).

There are filters at the top of the page that allow you to exclude QF or Partners

I've found that if you select BC from the cabin drop down, that the symbols are for the BC cabin. So there isn't 4 symbols that appear like it used to, and only the symbol for the cabin you've selected. A little more clunky imo and they should explain this better.

I assume you're referring to different pages as I'm not able to choose airline on the following screens.

I thought that was what they were however, I haven't found this to always be the case. Frequently I go into the dates only to find no flights in BC available on those dates indicated on the calendar. Additionally when you look across the dates bar after clicking go they show you "lowest fares" which apply to lower classes so you can't even scan across the dates there. Very clunky system, as you say, to the point of infuriatingly painful. Whole thing needs a proper overhaul...which I can't see happening anytime soon! :(

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

problem with the standard search is it wont let you mix and match classes like the multi city search allows.

ie; if you search biz reward on the normal search and there isn't 2 biz reward flights for the route you want, it wont anything show up.

but if you go multi city, it will - it will just have a drop box against the flight legs which might not be in the class you want.

my example;
- I made a reward booking for june in biz syd to london - there were no biz flights for both legs so the standard search didnt show anything.
- I did it in multi city and it showed there was one biz flight for one leg and a first class flight for the second leg.........I was happy as you can assume.
