Cabin Crew at work

Thanks. That was interesting - especially the part about having no refrigerators. I do think those pilots need tray tables though. :-)

Thanks for posting that Tuapekastar. I noticed both pilots has the same main meal. I had always thought the pilots were supposed to have different food so that they weren't both taken sick with food poisoning. Another urban myth exposed....that's two in as many weeks. First it was Santa and now this...!

Those pilots eat a lot. Doesn't it make you sleepy when you digest considerable food?

I thought both eating togather wasn't a good idea ??

Thoughts??

Strange you should say that, when I looked at the size of the meals, and what they were eating -- chateaubriand with baked vegetables -- I thought 'whoa, that's a big, heavy working meal'.

The other thing that struck me was her making the coffee as soon as she got on, an hour before departure; I bet that would be good and bitter by the time it's served! Maybe QF take a lesson from them in the preparation of tea -- it's often incredibly bitter having been made well before service.

While we're on the subject of urban myths and since you're on a hat-trick, the Easter Bunny isn't real either.

It looks like the Capt & F/O actually choose their meals from the First Class menu but it did surprise me both having the same meal however the video did say the relief pilot had the pasta.

From personal experience the crew meals were always labelled "Capt" then "crew" for the other two meals for the F/O and F/A. Of course the pilots would often swap their meals however each one of course had a different meal.

Having a look at what they were served in the video looked a bit a Christmas dinner where you eat then need to lie down and have a sleep afterwards.

I have never seen both pilots eat at the same time as IME they decide who will eat first so the other pilot can have full control of the aircraft.

The dry ice does a mighty good job of keeping the ice creamf frozen for AA's trademark hot fudge sundaes.

One thing that amazes me is that in the US the F/A's don't have to tie back their hair. I'm sure there's been more than one occasion where a passenger could have said "excuse me stewardess but there's a blonde hair in my chateau briand.

That video did nothing to make me want to fly AA long-haul. From the horrible drip "coffee" through to the breakfast potatoes, all it did is make me thankful for the likes of EK and SQ...

Thanks a lot. Now I'm so depressed, I'm going back to bed

I agree
