Bye Bye BP ...

I live in a suburb of ADL, so will mention this.
OTR is not owned by BP tho, owned by the Shahins, under Peregrine, whether this might make a difference post Mar 2020.

Probably one of the easiest transactions to have made to keep your account active. Once this is gone what else would be any easy one for those nearing the expire points (24 months isn't it?)?

Buying something (meaningless) from ebay, or Coles is always good.
Granted that Coles still needs you or I to buy up to $2000 worth of groceries, give or take bonuses, to meet the min for the transfer.
711 probably won't get involved, but Mobil might, or Coles Express might step into the role/void if the deal is sweetened.
In the end, its just my speculating, maybe Mobil, **my crystal ball is on the blink**.

The BP's near me are always more expensive than nearby 7/11 and United. Also they only have E10 which I do not like.

Therefore it's no big deal for me

Barring anything from the eStore, these are some quick and easy ones:

Ola rideshare 1 points/$
Autobarn 2 points/$

My closest Shell is typically cheaper than my closest BP and I've found myself taking advantage of the 8pts per litre offer on the Coles receipts. Coupled with the fairly regular ~12-20 pts per litre flybuys offers then its a much better way to earn Velocity points, especially if you transfer when they have the 15% bonus.

Today the BP is $1.63 for E10 and the United is $1.25 for 91 octane ?????

They might go with the few Mobil's own outlets.
I think a long while back, we used to have a lot of Mobil outlets here in Au, then they decided to step out of direct retailing of fuel, but seems to have put their toes back into the retail selling of fuel side of things.

I don't think Mobil have got back into fuel retailing. Whilst there are Mobil branded sites and more of them, think you will find they are not company owned and are private sites who are being supplied by Mobil and being branded as Mobil.

Mobil is uinlikely to partner with Velocity due to 7-Eleven. Remember Velocity and FlyBuys have a partnership which involves people shopping at Coles Express. I think United Petroleum may be the only option for Velocity if they want a direct petrol station partner.

Shell Coles Express petrol stations are an option as you can earn FlyBuys points. However, you then need to convert to Velocity, so they're not as valuable as a direct Velocity point earn.

Wouldn't the quickest, easiest solution be to offer a Flybuys bonus for those with a linked Velocity card? For example, 1.5x or 2x Flybuys points.

Velocity has just announced that the BP partnership will end on 31 January 2020.

Presumably this means the Qantas partnership will commence in February.

Who picks up the cost of removing all those Velocity signs ?
